B. ne s'est pas trompée. L'histoire d'Helen Keller est ce qu'on appelle aujourd'hui, un « feel-good book », un livre qui fait du bien. En cette fin de XIXème siècle de tous les possibles, de toutes les inventions, une jeune fille presque aveugle invente une méthode pédagogique de communication pour sourds et aveugles qui s'avère miraculeuse pour la jeune Helen... Oui, Helen nous fait penser que tout est possible -grâce à la bonté. Je remercie B. pour son article.

I liked this book because the story is very moving as it is a true story. It is about a little girl, called Helen, who was dumb, deaf, and blind. She lived in the dark and thus felt isolated and frustrated. Then her life changed when Anne Sullivan, her fantastic tutor, managed to teach her the deaf and blind language, with a special method designed just for Helen. With the help of Anne, Helen became an extraordinary and gifted person.
This book is about a very special success story and this is what I enjoyed. I did not find the book sad and I can even say that it is a « feel-good » book I recommend.
